As further details emerge of the medical emergency that stopped sax-man Euge Groove in his tracks the better news is that he has a brand new album all but complete and slated for release later in 2025.
It was back in September 2022, at Yoshi’s in Oakland, when he had to rapidly leave the stage. Extensive tests on his heart followed with the result he was admitted to one of the top cardiac units in the world, Cedars in LA, where he underwent full open heart surgery to replace his aortic valve.
Since then his recovery has been slow but, with new music in the works, things are looking brighter and with this in mind here is a track from Euge’s 2023 ‘Comfort Zone’ project, ‘Let’s Hold Hands’. It’s classic Euge Groove and then some.
