Back in 2018 and just when you thought that Paul Hardcastle had run out of musical creativity, along he came with ‘Hardcastle VIII’, a collection that found him doing what he does best while throwing in a few surprises along the way. Talking of surprises one needed to look no further than Hardcastle’s rendition of America’s 1971 classic ‘Horse With No Name’ with daughter Maxine fronting up on vocals.
It is a track that now, and perhaps belatedly, has found its way to radio. For novelty value alone it is well worth a listen and indeed this latest project is confirming how, thirty-four years into a hit strewn career, Hardcastle is still looking to the future as well as never being afraid to take a glance at what has gone before.
