To reject the chance of a career in pro football and follow a dream of a different kind takes a certain kind of dedication. But, that’s exactly what Tim Cunningham did when he turned down a free agent contract with the Dallas Cowboys in order to complete his degree and work on his true passion, the saxophone. Over time this led to the release of a sequence of albums including his 1990 ‘Sax Change Operation’, ‘A Change In Altotude’ two years later and ‘Right Turn Only’ in 1996. ‘Waiting For Love’ ushered in the millennium and ‘Inner Peace’ was released in 2004. His 2007 collection ‘Manchester Road’ caught the attention of Smooth Jazz Therapy in a big way so its particularly pleasing to find his latest CD, ‘Reflection’, is all set to hit the streets.
The first single to be offered to radio is the delicious ‘Surrendered Soul’ that listeners will find to be sultry, cool yet definitely funky.
Highly recommended.
